Welcome Speech from Conference Chair

Dear Colleagues,

Despite considered by many to be a mature field, hydropower and environmental engineering research continue to be a vibrant topic of research throughout the world, with the number of publications continually increasing over time all around the world. The continued interest in the application of these areas cries out for different new ways for sharing cutting-edge research in the field. It is important not only from a fundamental point of view but also for its engineering and industrial applications . The international competitiveness of those industries in a globalized economy is closely tied to their technologies and products.

2020 International Conference on Innovative Solutions in Hydropower and Environmental Engineering brings you an immense opportunity to be a part of scientific acceleration to world class personalities, young scholars, scientific delegates and young scientists to join in this conference to utilize the expertise and novelties that brings a new era for innovations in the field of which brings well versed scrutinizers. It also provides a special channel to have open discussions, knowledge sharing and interactive sessions with field experts. This Conference Issue aims to show the latest engineering and other related research trends, including applications, advanced technologies and processes.

We personally invite you and your colleagues to submit a contribution in the form of original scientific reports, research articles for this HECE. We encourage the submission to the thank presenters, and speakers in advance for your attendance of this conference and look forward to a stimulating exchange.

HECE 2020 is organized by China University of Geosciences (CUG) and Ryerson University Toronto, technical supported by CCCC Second Harbour Engineering Company Ltd., University of Missouri, University of Ferrara, Lincoln University, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, University of Texas, X-wave Innovations,Inc., China Agricultural University, etc. HECE-2020 will be held in Hangzhou, China during December 11-13 2020, Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Sheng, (email:

Young Researchers Opportunity:
We make sure to support and motivate 'Young Researchers' by:
Establishing their academic and professional relationships.
Improving their morale and confidence in presenting research in an international platform.
Interacting with expertise in their respective departments.
Clearing your inhibitions of adjusting to the foreign environment.
Providing a holistic experience of academic tourism.

We sincerely hope that HECE-2020 serves as an international platform for conference researchers from around the world, widen professional contact and create new opportunities, including establishing new collaborations.

Prof. Tammo Steenhuis, Cornell University, USA
Tammo Steenhuis is a professor in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Cornell University, USA. He is also one of the faculty members leading the dynamic and innovative Soil and Water Group. S&W’s broad mission relates to the management of soil and water resources and tries to improve the understanding of physical, chemical, and biological processes related to water flow, and to improve and protect water resources and ecological systems throughout the world in socially conscious ways. Steenhuis and his graduate students also played central roles in developing variable source area hydrology. One of Tammo Steenhuis’s most notable international achievements is the establishment of a successful graduate program in water management and hydrology at Bahir Dar University in Ethiopia. Steenhuis has well over 200 publications in ISI-rated peer-reviewed journals that address a wide range of water resources issues.
